Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — the multiplier is locked and turbo behaviour is fully automatic up to the maximum. Board power-limit settings shape sustained all-core clocks; for multiplier control the unlocked 265K on a Z890 board is the counterpart.

The 285 adds four efficiency cores and a little more turbo headroom inside the same 65 W class; the 265 keeps eight-plus-twelve cores at a lower price point. Both run the same LGA1851 platform, DDR5-6400 memory and Intel Graphics.

Every unit carries a 1-year warranty against defects in workmanship and function. A verified faulty processor is replaced or refunded, and we cover the return shipping.

Every unit is inspected on arrival and again before dispatch: the heat spreader and the socket contact pads are checked for physical damage, thermal paste is cleaned off, and the processor is run through a full-core load test. Verified faulty units are replaced or refunded under our 1-year warranty.

The minimum order quantity is 2 units. Pricing is quotation-based rather than fixed, so send us the quantity you need and we will reply with a firm quote; volume orders are priced progressively lower.

Any board with an Intel chipset from this list: Intel 800 series (Z890 for overclocking; B860 and H810 run at stock). Tell us the board or the machine model when you enquire and we will confirm compatibility and any BIOS requirement before you order.

2 channels DDR5-6400, up to 256 GB, with a maximum bandwidth of 102.4 GB/s. The board determines whether ECC modules can be used; on consumer chipsets the same modules run as plain non-ECC. This platform is DDR5-only — older DDR4 modules do not fit, so check the board before ordering memory.

No. Intel Graphics is integrated, so the motherboard video outputs drive the display and hardware video decode is handled on the iGPU. Add a discrete card only for gaming, CUDA or heavier compute work.

The TDP is 65 W and the maximum operating temperature is 105 °C, so a cooler rated for the LGA1851 socket and at least 65 W is sufficient. No cooler is included with the processor — make sure your chassis has one before the build.

Our stock ships under sSpec SRQCX. The laser marking on the integrated heat spreader is read off each unit and checked against the Intel specification sheet during inspection, and the sSpec is confirmed in the BIOS at boot.

The Intel Core Ultra 7 265 Processor — 20 cores and 20 threads, 2.4 GHz base rising to 5.3 GHz with Turbo Boost, 30 MB Intel Smart Cache, 65 W processor base power, LGA1851. Supplied from stock with a 1-year warranty.

The 65 W Ultra 7 for office and OEM towers

The Core Ultra 7 265 is the standard Ultra 7: eight performance cores plus twelve efficiency cores — twenty cores, twenty threads — at 2.40 GHz P-core base with a 5.30 GHz maximum turbo, 30 MB of cache and a 65 W base power, launched Q1 2025. The multiplier is locked and the envelope suits mainstream chassis.

Intel Graphics with Quick Sync covers display and transcode duty, and the locked 65 W design means turbo behaviour is fully automatic. It is the Ultra 7 that office and system-integrator platforms were specified around.

Instruction set extensions: Intel SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX and AVX2. Security and virtualisation: AES-NI, Intel VT-x with EPT and VT-d, Intel Boot Guard. On-die AI acceleration comes from the Intel AI Boost NPU, and workload scheduling between the performance and efficiency cores is handled by Intel Thread Director.

Which systems take this processor

Anything on the LGA1851 socket with an Intel 800 series chipset: Z890 for overclocking, B860 and H810 for mainstream builds. This is a brand-new platform introduced with the Core Ultra Series 2 (Arrow Lake) desktop line: DDR5-only memory, PCIe 5.0 on the graphics link and an on-die NPU.

Two caveats: LGA1851 boards do not accept LGA1700 processors and vice versa — the socket looks similar but the pinout and keying changed, so check the socket, not just the brand. On the other hand, the cooler mounting pattern carries over from LGA1700, so most recent tower coolers fit without a new bracket; verify the cooler's rated wattage against the processor anyway. Tell us the board or the machine model when you enquire and we will confirm before you order.

The 285 is the Ultra 9 equivalent in the same 65 W class with four more efficiency cores, and the 245 and 235 are the Ultra 5 steps below it; all share the LGA1851 platform.

How each processor is tested before it ships

  1. Visual inspection of the integrated heat spreader, substrate and contact pads; the sSpec laser marking (SRQCX on our Ultra 7 265 stock) is verified against the Intel specification sheet.
  2. Burn-in on a matched diagnostic board with a pair of memory modules of the correct type for this platform.
  3. All populated memory channels and the primary PCIe lanes are validated, then the processor is identified in the BIOS and in the operating system.
  4. A sustained multi-threaded load test at full core count, with the clock and thermal readings recorded.
  5. Thermal paste cleaned off, final inspection, then packaging in an anti-static tray with foam — which is how it arrives to you.

Warranty and lead time

Every processor is covered by a 1-year warranty against defects in workmanship and function. If a part fails within the period we replace it or refund it, and we cover return shipping on a verified fault. Stock is held in our own warehouse and normally dispatches within three to seven working days; tracking is issued at dispatch.

Purchasing and volume enquiries

The minimum order quantity for this processor is 2 units. Price is quotation-based rather than listed, because CPU pricing moves with each incoming batch — send us the quantity you need and we will come back with a firm quote and the current lead time. Larger quantities ship from the same production batch so the sSpec and the stepping stay consistent across your order.
