This policy explains warranty coverage and the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) process for products supplied by Ocean Crossing Trading Company Limited ("Ocean Server") through oceanserverparts.com. It forms part of our Terms of Service (Section 5, Warranty & Returns).
1. No General Returns
Ocean Server is a B2B supplier. All quotations and orders are prepared specifically for each buyer, therefore we do not accept returns for change of mind, incorrect purchasing decisions, or surplus stock. Please confirm part numbers, quantities and compatibility before accepting a quotation. Products are only taken back through the warranty/RMA process described below.
2. Warranty Coverage
Every part carries a 1-year warranty from the date of dispatch, covering verified functional faults that prevent the product from operating to its published specification. The applicable warranty period is also stated on each product page.
The warranty covers:
- Verified functional faults (failure to POST, instability, incorrect identification, dead unit);
- Faults present at dispatch or developing under normal, proper use within the warranty period.
3. Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover:
- Physical damage (cracked, bent or burnt components, damaged sockets or pins);
- Improper installation or handling, including bent-pin damage to CPU sockets;
- Damage caused by static discharge (ESD) by the buyer;
- Unauthorised modification, repair, relabelling or tampering with serial numbers;
- Damage from power surges, liquid ingress, or use outside the product's specified environment;
- Normal cosmetic wear.
4. How to File an RMA Claim
- Contact our RMA team at [email protected] with your order number, part number (P/N) and a description of the fault.
- Provide evidence — photos or a short video showing the fault (e.g. POST codes, error messages, the unit in question). Serial numbers are recorded at dispatch and will be verified.
- Initial troubleshooting — we review the evidence, normally within 2-3 business days, and may suggest simple checks first.
- RMA number issued — if a return is required, you will receive an RMA number and shipping instructions. Units sent without an RMA number cannot be accepted.
- Return & verification — ship the unit per the RMA instructions. For confirmed faults, return shipping is covered by us.
- Resolution — verified faulty units are repaired, replaced or refunded at our option, consistent with Section 5 of our Terms of Service.
5. Resolution and Lead Time
Once a returned unit is received and the fault is verified, replacement or repair is normally arranged within 5-10 business days. If the fault cannot be verified on returned units, we will provide test evidence and return the unit to you. Refunds, where offered as the remedy, are processed to the original payment channel.
