The AMD Ryzen 9 5950X Processor — 16 cores and 32 threads, 3.4 GHz base rising to 4.9 GHz with Precision Boost, 64 MB of GameCache, 105 W TDP, Socket AM4. Supplied from stock with a 1-year warranty.
The Ryzen 9 5950X is the top part of the Vermeer desktop line: two eight-core CCDs giving sixteen cores and thirty-two threads at a 3.40 GHz base with a 4.90 GHz maximum boost, 64 MB of L3 cache and a 105 W TDP, launched November 2020 on the 7 nm Zen 3 architecture.
It is the halo route onto the mature AM4 platform: DDR4-3200 dual-channel memory, PCIe 4.0 and full support of 500-series boards out of the box (400-series with a BIOS update), with a discrete graphics card doing the display work since the X-series processors carry no integrated graphics.

Instruction set extensions: MMX, SSE up to SSE4.2, AVX, AVX2. Precision Boost 2 and Precision Boost Overdrive are supported, and the multiplier is unlocked for overclocking on 500-series (and most 400-series) boards.
Anything on the Socket AM4 platform: X570 for full PCIe 4.0 on every slot, B550 for PCIe 4.0 on the primary slot with a mainstream price, A520 for entry builds, and 400-series X470/B450 boards once the BIOS is updated to an AGESA that supports Ryzen 5000.
Two caveats: AM4 boards do not accept AM5 processors such as the Ryzen 7000 series and vice versa — the sockets look similar but the pinout, mounting and keying all changed, so check the socket, not just the brand. Also verify the board BIOS is Ryzen 5000-ready before ordering; most boards sold since 2021 ship ready, but older 400-series stock may need a flash first. Tell us the board or the machine model when you enquire and we will confirm before you order.
| Processor | Cores / Threads | Base / Boost | L3 Cache | TDP | Socket |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ryzen 9 5950X | 16 / 32 | 3.4 / 4.9 GHz | 64 MB | 105 W | AM4 |
| Ryzen 5 5600X | 6 / 12 | 3.7 / 4.6 GHz | 32 MB | 65 W | AM4 |
| Ryzen 7 5800X | 8 / 16 | 3.8 / 4.7 GHz | 32 MB | 105 W | AM4 |
| Ryzen 7 5800X3D | 8 / 16 | 3.4 / 4.5 GHz | 96 MB | 105 W | AM4 |
| Ryzen 9 5900X | 12 / 24 | 3.7 / 4.8 GHz | 64 MB | 105 W | AM4 |
The 5600X and 5800X are single-CCD parts with 32 MB of L3; the 5900X and 5950X carry two CCDs and double the cache. The 5950X sits at the top of the line — four more cores than the 5900X on the same dual-CCD design and the same 105 W budget. The 5800X3D trades the higher clocks for a stacked 96 MB cache and is the gaming pick of the line. All five share the AM4 platform and the same board support.
Every processor is covered by a 1-year warranty against defects in workmanship and function. If a part fails within the period we replace it or refund it, and we cover return shipping on a verified fault. Stock is held in our own warehouse and normally dispatches within three to seven working days; tracking is issued at dispatch.
The minimum order quantity for this processor is 2 units. Price is quotation-based rather than listed, because CPU pricing moves with each incoming batch — send us the quantity you need and we will come back with a firm quote and the current lead time. Larger quantities ship from the same batch so the OPN and the stepping stay consistent across your order.
Tell us who you are — we reply within one working day with a firm quote, stock status and lead time. Volume discounts available.
