The Intel Core i5-12600K — 10 cores and 16 threads at 3.70 GHz base / 4.90 GHz max turbo, 20 MB Intel Smart Cache, 125 W processor base power, FCLGA1700. Supplied with no bundled cooler and a 1-year warranty.
The 12600K was the value flagship of the 12th Gen launch and it remains one of the best-balanced desktop CPUs ever made. It is the first i5 to use Intel's hybrid architecture: six Performance-cores with Hyper-Threading (12 threads) paired with four Efficient-cores (4 threads), giving 10 cores and 16 threads. Intel Thread Director hands the right work to the right core type automatically, so games run on the fast P-cores while background encodes and compression run on the E-cores without stealing frame time.
For a K-series part it is also modest to cool and to power. At 125 W processor base power / 150 W max turbo power a good tower air cooler or a 240 mm AIO is enough, which keeps total system cost well below the i7 and i9 tiers. The chip is unlocked, so the multiplier, memory ratios and per-core turbo tables are all open on Z690 and Z790 boards.

Instruction set extensions: SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX2 and 64-bit. AVX-512 is present on the silicon but disabled on production Alder Lake parts, so software requiring AVX-512 should not be planned for this chip. Security and management: AES-NI, Intel Boot Guard, OS Guard, VT-x with EPT and VT-d, plus Intel Quick Sync Video and Intel Deep Learning Boost on the UHD 770 engine.
Anything on the LGA1700 socket with a 600 or 700 series chipset. The board you pick also decides which memory you can use, because 12th Gen boards were sold in DDR4 and DDR5 variants of the same model:
No cooler is included. Budget a heatsink rated for at least 150 W of sustained dissipation, and check that your board has a BIOS revision that supports 12th Gen before first boot.

| i5-12600K | 10 / 16 | 3.70 / 4.90 GHz | 20 MB | 125 W | DDR5-4800 / DDR4-3200 |

The 12600K gives up four E-cores and a slice of cache against the 13600K and 14600K, which is worth roughly 10–15 % in heavily threaded work and much less in gaming, where all three are close. What the 12600K keeps is a lower price, an unlocked multiplier, the same socket and the same DDR4 escape hatch — which makes it the sensible pick for builders reusing an existing DDR4 kit or upgrading a 600-series board that is already in service.
Every processor is covered by a 1-year warranty against defects in workmanship and function. If a part fails within the period we replace it or refund it, and we cover return shipping on a verified fault. Stock is held in our own warehouse and normally dispatches within three to seven working days; tracking is issued at dispatch. Processors are shipped in anti-static trays with foam, and multiple units in one order are packed in matched batches.
The minimum order quantity for this processor is 2 units. Price is quotation-based rather than listed, because CPU pricing moves with each incoming batch — send us the quantity you need and we will come back with a firm quote and the current lead time. Larger quantities ship from the same production batch so the sSpec and the stepping stay consistent across your order.
Tell us who you are — we reply within one working day with a firm quote, stock status and lead time. Volume discounts available.
