The Intel Core i3-9100 Processor — 4 cores and 4 threads, 3.6 GHz base rising to 4.2 GHz with Turbo Boost, 6 MB Intel Smart Cache, 65 W processor base power, LGA1151. Supplied from stock with a 1-year warranty.
The i3-9100 was the first entry i3 to get Turbo Boost: four cores at 3.60 GHz base that climb to 4.20 GHz when thermal headroom allows, 6 MB of cache, 65 W. It is the same Coffee Lake Refresh silicon as the 8100 with a higher ceiling, and it is the part that made a non-K i3 feel responsive rather than merely adequate.
There is still no Hyper-Threading — four cores, four threads — so the gain over the 8100 comes entirely from clock headroom. In office work that shows up as snappier application launches and better single-threaded response; in sustained all-core work the two parts converge. For a 300 series board that is already in service, the 9100 is the drop-in that buys the most without changing platform.

| Launch | Q2 2019 |
Instruction set extensions: Intel SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX and AVX2. Security and virtualisation: AES-NI, Intel VT-x with EPT and VT-d, Intel Boot Guard.
Anything on the FCLGA1151 socket with an Intel 300 series chipset: H310, B360, B365, H370, Q370, Z370 and Z390, plus C246 server boards. The 300 series supports 8th and 9th Generation Core processors, with 9th Generation parts requiring a BIOS from late 2018 or later on the earlier boards.
One caveat when buying a board separately: 9th Generation parts need a BIOS from late 2018 or later on 300 series boards, and C246 boards were sold mainly for Xeon E and may list Core support only from a specific revision. Tell us the board or the machine model when you enquire and we will check it.
| Processor | Cores / Threads | Base / Turbo | Cache | Power | Socket |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| i3-8100 | 4 / 4 | 3.60 GHz / — | 6 MB | 65 W | LGA1151 |
| i3-9100 | 4 / 4 | 3.60 / 4.20 GHz | 6 MB | 65 W | LGA1151 |
| i3-9100F | 4 / 4 | 3.60 / 4.20 GHz | 6 MB | 65 W | LGA1151 |
| i3-10100 | 4 / 8 | 3.60 / 4.30 GHz | 6 MB | 65 W | LGA1200 |
Against the 8100 the only difference is Turbo, and it is worth having — 4.20 GHz on a single thread is a real step for interactive work. The 9100F is the same processor without integrated graphics. The 10100 adds Hyper-Threading but moves to LGA1200, so it is a platform change rather than an upgrade.
Every processor is covered by a 1-year warranty against defects in workmanship and function. If a part fails within the period we replace it or refund it, and we cover return shipping on a verified fault. Stock is held in our own warehouse and normally dispatches within three to seven working days; tracking is issued at dispatch.
The minimum order quantity for this processor is 2 units. Price is quotation-based rather than listed, because CPU pricing moves with each incoming batch — send us the quantity you need and we will come back with a firm quote and the current lead time. Larger quantities ship from the same production batch so the sSpec and the stepping stay consistent across your order.
Tell us who you are — we reply within one working day with a firm quote, stock status and lead time. Volume discounts available.
