Intel Xeon Platinum 8360Y — 36 cores and 72 threads at 2.4 GHz base / 3.5 GHz turbo, 54 MB cache, 250 W TDP, FCLGA4189. Supplied from stock with a 1-year warranty.
The 8360Y belongs to the 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable (Ice Lake-SP) family, launched in Q2 2021 on a 10 nm process. It pairs 36 cores / 72 threads with a 2.4 GHz base and a 3.5 GHz turbo ceiling on a 250 W envelope, plus PCIe 4.0 with 64 lanes. The chip is rated 2S (two sockets) with three UPI links at 11.2 GT/s, and it runs DDR4-3200 across eight channels with a 6 TB per-socket ceiling - Intel Optane persistent memory 200 series is supported alongside DDR4.
Few Ice Lake bins ship with as much Speed Select coverage: SST Performance Profile, Core Power, Turbo Frequency and Base Frequency are all supported, with three official performance profiles - 8360Y(0): all 36 cores at 2.4 GHz / 250 W, 8360Y(1): 32 cores at 2.5 GHz / 250 W and 8360Y(2): 24 cores at 2.6 GHz / 220 W - and a stock partition of 12 high-priority cores at 2.70 GHz plus 24 low-priority cores at 2.10 GHz. Security and acceleration are Ice Lake Platinum staples: AVX-512 with two FMA units, DL Boost, TSX-NI and VMD, Intel Crypto Acceleration, Resource Director Technology and Speed Shift, plus Total Memory Encryption, Run Sure reliability and Platform Firmware Resilience. SGX is supported with Intel SPS and a 64 GB enclave page cache. Thermal rating is TCASE 80 °C in a 77.5 mm × 56.5 mm package.

The 8360Y fits any FCLGA4189 (Whitley) platform whose BIOS supports 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable parts, in single- or dual-CPU two-socket systems. Typical systems that run it include:
Because the part is rated 2S with three UPI links, it can pair with a second 8360Y in dual-socket nodes - check that the platform BIOS and the second CPU stepping are compatible before ordering, and make sure the chassis cooling is rated for two 250 W processors.

| Xeon Platinum 8280 | 2nd Gen (Cascade Lake) | 28 / 56 | 2.7 / 4.0 GHz | 38.5 MB | 205 W | 6ch DDR4-2933 |

Against the 2nd Gen flagship Platinum 8280, the 8360Y brings eight more cores (36 vs 28) and 15.5 MB more cache at a 300 MHz lower base clock, moves I/O to PCIe 4.0 with 64 lanes (up from 48 on PCIe 3.0), widens memory to eight channels of DDR4-3200 with a 6 TB ceiling (up from six channels, 1 TB), and runs a 45 W larger envelope. Next to its closest sibling, the Platinum 8358, it adds four cores and 6 MB of cache, trading a 200 MHz lower base clock for a 100 MHz higher turbo ceiling at the same 250 W. Stepping up to the 8368 buys two more cores and 3 MB of cache at the same base clock, but the turbo ceiling drops 100 MHz (3.4 vs 3.5 GHz) and the envelope grows to 270 W.
Every 8360Y carries a 1-year warranty covering defects in workmanship and function; a verified faulty unit is replaced or refunded with return shipping covered. New units come in Intel tray packaging (order code CD8068904571901); tested pull units are labelled as such and priced separately. In-stock units typically ship within 2-3 business days after payment confirmation.
